Programming

Michael Landau Architects utilizes a unique method of gathering input during the programming phase. We facilitate the discussion by identifying key functional and pragmatic issues. We have refined our information gathering process to maximize input from the broadest range of congregants possible, while focusing the actual setting of priorities with a small manageable committee of decision-makers. Allowing many members to be heard and feel included early in the process generates a strong base of support for the project. The lay and clerical leadership is the most important resource in every congregation, giving us guidance and direction as to the preferred working relationship with the congregation and staff.

The process will generate a program document that will define your congregation’s functional needs, the desired flow of people, preferred adjacencies between spaces and the relative priority of space needs. We will consider your full potential of spatial and functional needs without pre-conceived limitations, but with a firm sense of your tradition and fiscal reality.
